CRY Los Angeles Walk

Congratulations to our CRY Los Angeles Team on a successful CRY Walk event led by our LA Youth Chapter on July 26th at the West Creek Park. The event had around 50 participants who enjoyed a walk and picnic and activities like face painting, lime and spoon race and scavenger hunt. Everyone got into the spirit of the event with the Bollywood dance warmup session. Thank you to our volunteers, fundraisers, donors and sponsors for making this a successful event.

Bringing back Divya’s strength

Bringing back Divya’s strength

In January 2024, Divya*, a 57-month-old girl from Shivpuri district was severely malnourished & weighed only 11 kilograms with a height of 92 centimetres. Her mother was busy with the care of her younger siblings, and unable to focus on Divya’s health which led to recurrent diarrhoea and fever.

CRY America Project Vikas Samvad Samiti’s team conducted regular home visits and counselled her mother on the importance of hygiene and cleanliness. Her family was also linked to a government program for backyard poultry farming & to a nutrition garden, ensuring Divya’s access to protein-rich eggs, meat and vegetables. The family was also connected to the Take Home Ration program to ensure food security. Besides this, Divya’s mother and grandmother also received training on preparing and feeding her Nutrimix.

With regular support through weighing and health checks by the community mobilizers, Anganwadi workers, and Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM), Divya is on the path to recovery, moving out of the Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) category and becoming a healthier, well-nourished child.
